The Texas Tech basketball team's run in March Madness came to an end with a lopsided loss to Alabama in the second round.

TAMPA, Fla. — The Texas Tech basketball team got down big early and couldn't recover in a 90-65 loss to Alabama in the second round of the 2026 men's NCAA Tournament on Sunday in Benchmark International Arena. The Crimson Tide blitzed the Red Raiders from beyond the arc, hitting 14 3-pointers by the under-4 media timeout of the second half, which was a season-high given up by Texas Tech (23-11) at the time.

Alabama wound up hitting 19 3s in the game, the most an opponent has hit against Texas Tech since the start of the 2010-11 season.
