Anthony Edwards-less Timberwolves hound Celtics, as Boston falls 102-92

BOSTON — The Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves were engaged in a tight contest on Sunday night — until the fourth quarter. The T-Wolves outscored the C's 26-15 in the final 12 minutes of play to steal a 102-92 win at TD Garden, snapping Boston's four-game winning streak. Even though the Celtics led by as many as 15 points, they couldn't keep up with the Timberwolves speed at times.

Minnesota guards Ayo Dosunmu and Bones Hyland combined for 40 points and whizzed by a few Celtics defenders in the process. Hyland's team-high 23 points tied a season-high and he reminded the C's of his big night by taunting their bench from time to time. Furthermore, the Timberwolves did all of this without star guard Anthony Edwards on their side since he's been sidelined with right knee inflammation since last Sunday.

As for the now 47-24 Celtics, star guard Jaylen Brown finished with a game-high 29 points in 35 minutes of play. Fellow Celtics star Jayson Tatum recovered from a poor first half and ended up with 16 points and 11 rebounds in his eighth game of the season. Collectively, the Celtics shot under 40% from the floor and were a brutal 27.

3% from 3-point land. Following the double-digit loss, the second-place Celtics are less than a game ahead of the New York Knicks. That lead could be in greater danger on Wednesday night too, as the C's host the reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder at TD Garden.
