Windsor boys basketball claims CIAC Division II title over back-to-back state champion Bunnell

(Danny Dashefsky/Hearst Connecticut Media) UNCASVILLE - The Windsor boys basketball team won its sixth state title on Sunday, defeating Bunnell 78-52 in the CIAC Division II final at Mohegan Sun Arena. Windsor was led by junior Ji Gary (22 points), junior Missoni Brown (16 points) and sophomore Alex Weaver (13 points).
The Warriors got out to a nine point advantage in the first quarter and extended the lead to 14 points at the half, 34-20. The lead was never relinquished, as Windsor outscored Bunnell 44-32 in the second half. This was Windsor's second title in the last three years after claiming the Division II title over West Haven in 2024.
The Bulldogs were led by Brody Briggs, who had 15 points. Prior to the loss, Bunnell had gone 4-0 in CIAC state championship games including back-to-back Division III titles in 2024 and 2025. Bunnell and Windsor had met in the fall for the CIAC Class MM football championship, which Windsor also won.
