Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Steve McLendon has received his first head coaching job at Carroll High School.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Steve McLendon has landed his first coaching job at his alma mater in Ozark, Alabama. On Friday, Ozark City Schools named McLendon as the newest football head coach of the Carroll High School Eagles. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his professional career and won a Super Bowl championship.

After five seasons with New York, McLendon finished out his final two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2020–2021.

He finished his NFL career with 276 combined tackles, four forced fumbles, 13 sacks, and 44 tackles for loss.
