Malik Willis is ready to take over in Miami for the Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are banking their whole franchise on quarterback Malik Willis, whom they signed after releasing veteran quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Willis was the top draft pick for the Tennessee Titans, who many assume would be a star coming out of college. But when things didn’t work out, he ended up as backup to Jordan Love in Green Bay when his chance to prove himself again came around.

When Love was injured, Willis finally proved why he was a high draft pick. In Love's absence, he threw for 422 yards and three touchdowns; he also rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Willis is coming into his own as a starting quarterback, but according to him, he wasn’t ready to be a starting quarterback two years ago; now he is.

This is what Willis said in his introductory press conference. "I'm not sure. Whether I was ready or not, I can't prove that.

That would be just me being arrogant or prideful. But the opportunity's here now, and I'm gonna try to do my best to take advantage of it. " Role Model: New Dolphins QB Malik Willis on whether he felt he was ready to be a starting QB a year or two ago.
