Spartan Hockey Gets A #1 Seed in NCAA Frozen Four

That other team garnered the overall number 1 seed, a position that MSU had in their hands.

However, things happen for a reason and I have to believe the Spartans are right where they are mean’t to be. They have not been a team to back down from higher ranked opponents, difficult venues or so called “superior” opponents. Worcester has the Spartans facing off against UConn in game one.

Puck drops on Thursday, March 26 at 1:30pm on ESPN 2. The bracket also includes the number 2 seed Dartmouth and the number 3 seeded Wisconsin Badgers. UConn was the last at large team to make the tourney and did so primarily because Ohio State lost in the B1G title game.

UConn lost to Merrimack in the Hockey East Tournament final. UConn is making their second ever Frozen Four after just missing the finals in an overtime loss last year. This will be the first time MSU heads to the tourney after a loss since Nightingale has taken the reigns.
