Nik Ehlers skated around Graves, who had to trip the forward to prevent further damage. The Hurricanes got the goal anyways quickly on the ensuing power play, Sebastian Aho’s shot deflected off the stick of Connor Dewar and slung into the net. Carolina scores only 47 seconds into the game.
