The Tigers trailed South Alabama, 33-30, at the end of the first half, but found momentum in the second half behind a 21-point effort from Kevin Overton.
Like Auburn, Seattle U used a strong second-half effort to win its first-round NIT game over St. Thomas (Minnesota). Five players reached double-figures in points, two of those came off the bench in the Redhawks 67-52 win.
