After some struggles to start the season, Michigan State has earned a massive Big Ten series win over Iowa.

After an unbelievably good start to the Michigan State baseball season, the Spartans have been met with a lot of adversity, losing 11 of their next 12 games. Since then, though, they have stabilized, and in their first home series of the year, secured a Big Ten series win. The Spartans welcomed in Iowa to Jeff Ishbia Field at McLane Stadium, taking two out of three against the Hawkeyes.

It was a shutout in game one, earning a 2-0 win behind Aidan Donovan and Nolan Higgins on the mound. Game two on Saturday was a run rule victory for Michigan State, only needed eight innings to beat Iowa, 15-5. The Spartans did fall in game three, 8-3, but earned themselves a massive Big Ten series win.

The team improved to 7-15 on the season, and 3-6 in Big Ten play. It will be an uphill climb, but the Spartans are working towards righting the ship this season. Michigan State will have a midweek game against Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday, before welcoming in Purdue in another Big Ten series.
