FSU baseball blows out NC State to take series
The FSU Seminoles hammered the NC State Wolfpack on Sunday to win the series in dominant fashion.
The No. 9 Florida State Seminoles beat the NC State Wolfpack 15-5 on Sunday at Dick Howser Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida. They won the series with the win and improved to 19-4 overall and 5-1 in ACC games.
FSU opened the scoring in the first inning after Kelvyn Paulino Jr. hit a one-out double and NC State intentionally walked Myles Bailey, who had three homers in the series. Nathan Cmeyla singled to load the bases before Eli Putnam scored Paulino with a sacrifice fly.
John Stuetzer made it a 2-0 game with a two-out single. The Seminoles took control in the second inning as Cal Fisher and Brayden Dowd hit back-to-back singles to put runners on the corners for Paulino. He responded with a three-run homer to center, the first of his career.
NC State then hit Bailey, who scored on a triple by Putnam, who scored on another single by Stuetzer to make it a 7-0 game. They added another run in the third when Paulino was hit with the bases loaded, scoring Will Bavaro. NC State got on the board in the fifth inning with a two-out double off of FSU starter Bryson Moore, making it an 8-2 game.
