FC Köln. The German cathedral city club confirmed the news on Sunday.
Kwasniok departs Köln after nine months on the job. For the time being, no permanent replacement has been appointed. Köln were rumored to be considering two options yesterday.
The Domstädter will go the internal promotion route initially. Assistant coach René Wagner will take over on an interim basis. Köln’s Statement on Lukas Kwasniok’s sacking “ We spent a great deal of time on Sunday discussing our current situation and came to the decision to inject new momentum into the head coaching position for the final phase of the season ,” Köln managing director Thomas Kessler noted in a club statement.
