The most striking change is tournaments will now be 72 holes instead of the 54 that served as the tour's Roman-numeral namesake, putting LIV back on level ground with traditional tours. LIV also has seen its first major defections, with Brooks Koepka and Patrick Reed departing prior to the 2026 season to begin the process of rejoining the PGA Tour. Plenty of top attractions remain, though, led by the likes of Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Dustin Johnson and Sergio Garcia.
