Ajay Mitchell, Justin Champagnie each suspended one game for Thunder-Wizards altercation
OKC Thunder guard Ajay Mitchell and Washington Wizards forward Justin Champagnie have each been suspended one game for their altercation on Sunday. Mitchell and Champagnie were involved in a bench-clearing skirmish and ultimately ejected during the second quarter of OKC's 132-111 road win over Washington . OKC's Cason Wallace and Jaylin Williams were also ejected for their involvement in the incident, but neither player received a suspension.
Williams was instead fined $50,000, while Wallace and Washington's Anthony Gill were each fined $35,000. Mitchell will now have to sit out OKC's road game against the Philadelphia 76ers at 6 p. m.
CT Monday. The Thunder (56-15) is looking to preserve its 11-game winning streak. Mitchell has been highly impactful since his return from a 20-game absence due to an abdominal strain and a left ankle sprain .
The sophomore guard has averaged 15 points, 3. 5 rebounds and 3. 3 assists in six games back.
