The Detroit Tigers still haven't made clear what they're going to do with shortstop phenom Kevin McGoningle. McGonigle, widely regarded as a top-three prospect in all of baseball, will play shortstop for the Tigers whenever he arrives in MLB. Whether that's on Opening Day or not is still lingering with suspense with only days to go until first pitch.

For whatever it's worth, the impressive Fangraphs Roster Resource page put together a projected lineup for the Tigers, and they've got McGonigle in it. Not just in it, either -- leading off. Here's how that projection looks as of midday Sunday: Kevin McGonigle SS Gleyber Torres 2B Kerry Carpenter RF Riley Greene LF Spencer Torkelson 1B Colt Keith 3B Dillon Dingler C Zach McKinstry DH Parker Meadows CF MORE: Big Papi's son has a special moment for the Red Sox That's a pretty impressive lineup if McGonigle is capable of living up to his prospect hype.

It also doesn't even include Javier Baez, who can play a variety of positions at this point in his career, or Jahmai Jones, who will certainly get into the lineup when the Tigers face left-handed starting pitchers. If McGonigle doesn't make the team, McKinstry and Baez will likely do the handling of shortstop in the meantime to keep the seat warm. But the reality is that McGonigle looks ready, and the fact that the Tigers haven't sent him down yet suggests he could indeed be arriving to the majors for good this week.
