💪 Own record in sight: Bayern chase next Bundesliga milestone FC Bayern Munich continues to circle alone at the top of the Bundesliga table week after week. The gap to the other teams has shown for quite some time now that Munich is really playing in a league of their own. We all know that it’s still essential to have goals.

When it comes to other competitions like the DFB-Pokal or the Champions League, those goals are clear. In the end, the aim is to win the treble. However, in the Bundesliga, it might be getting pretty hard for one or two of the stars to not get bored.

You have to get a bit creative, but there is indeed a goal beyond the championship trophy that the Kompany squad can still achieve in the league. After yesterday’s 4-0 win against Union Berlin, it’s clear that this goal is within reach. It’s about a record that—of course—Bayern themselves set.

That was in 1972, when the club scored 101 goals in a single Bundesliga season. Today’s FC Bayern currently has an incredible 97 goals to their name after matchday 27. The second-best offense is BVB, with just 58 goals.

As is well known, there are still seven games to go. Kane and company therefore need four more goals—ideally five—to equal and surpass the league record from back then. It’s pretty unlikely that the record champions won’t easily reach this mark.
