Robert Griffin III confirms pursuit of 2028 Olympic flag football dream

As the NFL offseason shifts toward the 2026 NFL Draft, flag football has taken center stage. Team USA dominated its opponent on Saturday—a roster that notably included Tom Brady and Joe Burrow. The 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles will mark the debut of flag football as an official event.

Now, a former NFL quarterback has confirmed he plans to chase gold. He reinforced that commitment later that night with a post on X.

“Proud and honored to announce that I will be going for gold in flag football with the USA National Team in 2028,” Griffin wrote in a post on X. Griffin also suggested he could contribute on both sides of the ball. During a FOX broadcast, he said he’s capable of playing some defense in addition to offense.
