Giants Notebook: Ryan Borucki Inks Deal
As the San Francisco Giants find themselves in need of left-handed help on pitching staff, team signs Ryan Borucki.
No team wants to enter a new MLB season with injuries nagging its pitching staff. Well, that's what the San Francisco Giants have cooking right now. On Saturday, the Giants addressed their needs in the left-handed pitching department.
Left-hander Ryan Borucki signed a Major League contract with the ballclub, according to Giants beat reporter Maria Guardado of MLB. com . Borucki was in the Chicago White Sox 's Spring Training camp before being released late last week.
Borucki wasn't going to make the team's 40-man roster, so he was on the market. Why, though, did the Giants get him? Sam Hentges and Reiver Sanmartin are out.
Hentges is still working to come back from his left shoulder surgery going all the way back to September 2024. Guardado also reported that Sanmartin is out for potentially three months after getting a right hip flexor strain during his time in the World Baseball Classic. Left-hander Erik Miller should be good to go, though, when the 2026 MLB season kicks off later this week.
