Shamrock Shuffle steps off in downtown Chicago Sunday
Thousands of runners turned the Chicago streets green, for the return of the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle. ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch Nearly 20,000 runners are expected to take off in this popular race, to kick off the spring running season.
The annual tradition is held a week after the Chicago River dyeing and continues with St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Runners come decked out in their green running attire.
There is a 2-mile walking course, and an 8K-mile course. Walkers go along the lakefront and then runners go throughout downtown. Wave one of the race started at 8:30 a.
m. Street closures along the route will occur between 7:30 a. m.
and 11:30 a. m.
