Sixers injury news: Latest update on Joel Embiid as road trip ends
Here is the latest injury update on Joel Embiid as the Philadelphia 76ers return home from the road trip.
The Philadelphia 76ers will now return home following a 126-116 win over the Utah Jazz on Saturday to end their road trip. The Sixers went 2-1 on the trip and will return home as the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Confernce.
Philadelphia continues to wait for the return of star big man Joel Embiid. The big fella has not played since Feb. 26 due to a right oblique strain and is hoping he can return sooner rather than later.
Coach Nick Nurse did give an update on Embiid before the win over the Jazz as he told reporters in Utah that he was able to finish up a workout on Friday, but he is still dealing with some soreness. There have not been any setbacks in his recovery. Joel Embiid had another on court workout yesterday.
He’s still working through some of the soreness of the strained oblique. But there hasn’t been another set back with him — Tony Jones (@Tjonesonthenba) March 22, 2026 The Sixers will return home to host the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. The chances of winning that one are small if Philadelphia can't have Embiid on the floor.
