Saints one of a few teams to meet with defensive lineman Donovan Green
The New Orleans Saints have made their rounds in the pre-draft process, including a meeting with Eastern Michigan defensive lineman Donovan Green.
Heading into the 2026 NFL offseason, the New Orleans Saints had a wide variety of positional needs, some of which they have been able to mark off their checklist through free agency. With that said, they have quite a few gaps left to fix, especially on defense, which could be a heavy focus of their draft strategy heading into April. Through the first few weeks of the month, they have been going around the country attending pro days and various events to get better looks at some of the top prospects.
In addition, they have been holding meetings with many different players to gauge whether or not they wish to draft them. One of the names who was recently added to the list was Eastern Michigan defensive lineman Donovan Green. Easton Butler of 247Sports reported that Green has met with the Saints, San Francisco 49ers, and Washington Commanders so far, noting interest.
Green improved quite a bit from 2024 to 2025 statistically, as in the latter, he ended up with 55 total tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 1. 5 sacks through 12 games. At 6-foot tall and 264 pounds, he has a stout frame that allows him to generate a decent amount of raw power, and could be a fun name to watch for as an addition to this New Orleans defensive line.
