Class of 2029 wide receiver receives first D1 offer from Wisconsin
The Wisconsin Badgers have been prioritizing in-state recruits, and they've done so again by giving this class of 2029 wide receiver a look. Not only have the Badgers been keeping tabs on Nicholas Payne Jr. , but they were the first Division I team to throw an offer his way.
Payne posted , "All the early mornings, late nights, and sacrifices are starting to show. To receive a Big Ten offer as a freshman—right here at home—means everything. This is just the beginning.
More work to do. " The 5-foot-11, 170-pound wideout currently plays for Racine Case High School. As just a freshman, he'll gain plenty of attention from other schools, but Wisconsin can always say they were the first to offer.
The Badgers elected to do so during Payne's unofficial visit in Madison on March 19. Payne told Rivals' Allen Trieu he cried upon hearing the news from the Badgers. It's clear just how much this offer means to him, and it's not something he's going to take for granted.
Thank God . 🙏🏾 All the early mornings, late nights, and sacrifices are starting to show. To receive a Big Ten offer as a freshman—right here at home—means everything.
