Stephen Curry, Al Horford, Seth Curry and Jimmy Butler were all on the injury report, ensuring that Steve Kerr's makeshift rotation remained in place. During his postgame news conference, Kerr gave an honest assessment of the team's current situation and the difficulties that come with losing so many games.
“This is the hardest thing to go through,” Kerr said, via Kenzo Fukuda of ClutchPoints . “Losing and being decimated by injuries. And just feeling like you're pushing, you're trying, you're competing, but things aren't going your way.
It's a tough, tough time, for sure, for everybody. It's human nature to, kind of, get down, hang your head. ” Golden State is 2-8 over its last 10 games.
The roster is also 6-15 since Curry went down with a knee injury 21 games ago. The brutal stretch of games, which has seen the Warriors operate without multiple key rotation players, has left the team sitting 10th in the Western Conference. As such, Golden State is staring down a difficult play-in tournament appearance, where it would need to win back-to-back elimination games to qualify for the playoffs.
