Lady Vols basketball enters a pivotal offseason after coach Kim Caldwell's second year led to one of the worst seasons in program history . Tennessee (16-14) recorded the worst winning percentage (. 552) in program history and tied the fewest number of wins in the NCAA era.

The No. 10 seed Lady Vols' 76-61 loss to No. 7 seed NC Stateย in the Women's NCAA Tournament first round on March 20 was the eighth-straight loss, which is their longest losing streak of the NCAA era.

It was only the third first-round exit in program history. "Not the game we wanted, really not the season we wanted but doesn't really help us to get into that right now," Caldwell said. "Trying to enjoy our seniors for the last little bit that we have them and nothing we can really say to help this loss.

" Kim Caldwell has 'long list' of takeaways from second season Caldwell's system didn't have nearly the same success as it did her first season, and she said she has "a long list" of takeaways from this season, but declined to go into that publicly after the game. "I think personally, the most important thing is making sure that you and the people around you keep your character when your prayer doesn't really match God's plan," Caldwell said. "I think I didn't do a great job of that personally today.
