After three consecutive losses in Class 2A semistate, Parke Heritage knocks off Linton-Stockton to earn state finals bid.

INDIANAPOLIS – No more next year. After three consecutive heartbreaks at the Southport Semistate, the Parke Heritage Wolves decided Saturday night was their time. Their fourth straight semistate tournament trip and third successive championship finals appearance wasn’t just the charm.

It was their moment to bust down the door to the IHSAA State Finals in downtown Indianapolis. Finally. Opportunity knocked & the Parke Heritage Wolves answered.

Pickel flipped the title game’s opening tip over his shoulder, and junior Brenden Goins found the 6-foot-9 forward in stride towards the basket for a two-handed slam, kicking off a decisive 18-3 run to start, as Parke Heritage led wire-to-wire to win 66-53. “That’s part of our offense, getting an early lead to get us going, so we can get running,” Pickel said.
