Ohio State made its fourth appearance in the Big Ten Tournament championship, this time as the lowest seed to make the title game.
The Ohio State men's hockey team's unlikely Big Ten Tournament run came to an end at the hands of rival Michigan on March 21. OSU, as the No. 5 seed, was the lowest-seeded team to make the championship game.
Against the No. 2-seeded Wolverines, the Buckeyes came up short 7-3 at Yost Arena in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Michigan had seven different goal-scorers.
T. J. Hughes added two assists.
William Smith, Jake Karabela and Adam Eisele all scored in the loss. Smith's and Eisele's goals came on the power play, and Eisele's tally gave OSU a 3-2 lead in the second period. The game was tied entering the third.
