Bruins edge Red Wings in playoff-type battle at LCA

The Red Wings failed to protect a 2-1 lead in the third period in a 4-2 loss against the Bruins in a tight-checking game at LCA.

The Boston Bruins rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night in front of another sellout crowd at Little Caesars Arena and a national TV audience on ABC. The Red Wings were leading 2-1 early in the third period on goals by Lucas Raymond and Alex DeBrincat, but they allowed back-to-back goals by Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov midway through the period. Marat Khusnutdinov added an empty-net goal for the Bruins, who were outshot 43-26.

The Islanders lost, 7-3, against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.
