Vanderbilt basketball to play Illinois vs Colorado winner in March Madness 2nd round

Who is Vanderbilt women's basketball opponent in the second round of March Madness? It's Illinois or Colorado on March 23.

Vanderbilt basketball made quick work of High Point in the first round of the 2026 Women's NCAA Tournament on March 21 at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville. The second-seeded Commodores' 102-61 victory secured them a second-round date with the winner of the Illinois vs. Colorado game on March 23.

Mikayla Blakes led the Commodores (28-4) with 30 points and broke Vanderbilt's single-season scoring record in the process. Vanderbilt will attempt to advance past the second round of March Madness for the first time since the 2012-13 season when it fell to UConn. Time and TV broadcast information for the March 23 game.
