Speaking to the NBA's official website , Kidd noted that he expects Flagg, 19, to shoot more catch-and-shoot 3-pointers rather than creating so much off the dribble. The goal is for him to expend less energy and absorb less contact. "He feels comfortable shooting it off the dribble," Kidd said.
"We would like for him to get a little bit better at catch-and-shoot. Less energy spent, less banging. " The Mavericks coach hopes more plays will be designed for that type of shot, rather than relying on individual decision-making.
Kidd acknowledges Flagg 'gets hit a lot,' expects team to help absorb load Kidd also noted that the priority regarding Flagg is preserving his health. "We're looking for Cooper to come out of this (season) healthy. " To that end, the coach expects the team to always have players around him who share the physical load, as well as a playmaker who can create advantages for Flagg.
