Girl hit by golf cart at Valspar. 'I just felt terrible,' Brooks Koepka says
A young girl was hit by and pinned underneath a golf cart on Saturday at the Valspar Championship. Brooks Koepka and Smylie Kaufman both went under the ropes to check on her
A scary incident involving a girl being pinned by a golf cart at the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship has apparently ended without serious consequences. As the group of Brooks Koepka and Danny Walker played the 15th hole in the third round at Innisbrook’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Fla. , the girl was struck by the cart.
Both Koepka and NBC on-course commentator Smylie Kaufman ducked under the ropes to check on the girl. According to Kaufman’s account from the hole, the girl was separated from the cart and did not suffer any obvious injuries. "I just felt terrible.
. . from all the reports you've got, she's OK, thankfully," Koepka said after the round.
"That's all that matters, as long as she's OK. I know she's probably a little scared and I just felt for her at the time. So, it's unfortunate; it shouldn't have happened, but as long as she's OK, nothing crazy happened to her, then it will be OK.
