HARRISON, N. J. — Gotham’s captain and defender Tierna Davidson is officially back.

The 27-year-old defender made her long-awaited return for the club’s home opener at Sports Illustrated Stadium on Saturday night, entering the pitch in the 61st minute in place of rookie forward Jordynn Dudley. Fans roared in excitement when Davidson’s name rang through the stadium speakers, as the defender sprinted onto the pitch and reclaimed her spot as Gotham’s center back for the first time in nearly a year.
