The University of North Carolina was bounced from the tournament Thursday by mid-major, VCU. A feat that has become a reoccurring theme as of late in Chapel Hill. The team held a 19-point lead before being forced into overtime and ultimately losing in the closing seconds of the extra period Tar Heels head coach Hubert Davis holds a career record of 125-54 in his five years with the program.
With a win percentage of nearly 70 percent many wonder why he would be on the hot seat? The answer is simple. He’s fallen short of expectations in the tournament.
According to CBS Sports' Matt Norlander , Davis' "future is in doubt. UNC AD Bubba Cunningham texts decision will be made in the coming days. " He added, "Boosters are privately saying they've lost faith in the program under Davis moving forward.
