No. 9 USC storms back to beat No. 8 Clemson in OT after Mia Moore's buzzer-beater is called back
The Trojans picked up the 9-8 NCAA tournament upset in an instant thriller.
USC is staying alive in one of the most thrilling matchups of the NCAA tournament so far, defeating No. 8 Clemson 71-67 in overtime to advance to the second round. Regulation time ended dramatically, with Clemson's Mia Moore getting off what would've been a game-winning three-pointer just before the buzzer.
But on review, the officials determined that the ball was still in Moore's hand when the clock hit zeros, leaving the score tied up and sending the game to overtime. NO WAYYYY🤯 #MarchMadness x 🎥 ESPN2 pic. twitter.
com/c6Sqem5iWx — NCAA March Madness (@MarchMadnessWBB) March 21, 2026 Clemson struck first in OT, pull ahead by three after a free throw and a Rachael Rose layup. But Jazzy Davidson, who minutes earlier had been in tears after thinking they had lost the game, hit two ice-cold three-pointers in a one-minute span — first to tie the game, and then again to take the lead. A handful of free throws seemed to ice it for the Trojans, but the Tigers didn't give up the fight.
With eight seconds left in overtime, Moore found Morgan Lee at the top of the arc, who sunk a three-pointer that brought Clemson back within one score. But USC only needed one free throw from Malia Samuels, who picked up the one needed point to secure the four-point win. This story will be updated.
