Only 0.6% of perfect brackets in the NCAA women's tournament remain after Virginia's upset win over Georgia

It took a little bit of time, but we finally had an upset in the women’s NCAA tournament. That, of course, eliminated a massive amount of perfect brackets that were still standing as the second day of play got underway. After a very straightforward day of play on Friday, in which there wasn’t a single upset across the board, about 29% of brackets filled out by Yahoo Sports users were still perfect.

But finally, after No. 10 Virginia knocked off No. 7 Georgia in overtime on Saturday afternoon, a massive amount of brackets were wiped out.

That was the first true upset of the tournament. The Cavaliers’ win in Iowa City brought the amount of perfect brackets still standing down to just 0. 7%.

Notre Dame’s win over Fairfield later on Saturday cut that down even further to 0. 6%. Virginia forced overtime after a huge 3-pointer from Romi Levy late in the fourth quarter, which eventually forced the extra period and propelled the Cavaliers to the 82-73 win.
