No. 10 Virginia outlasts No. 7 Georgia in OT in sweltering NCAA tournament conditions as AC breaks in arena
The Virginia win on the second day of action marked the first upset of the NCAA tournament.
With the air conditioner out in the middle of a March heat wave, No. 10 seed Virginia and beat No. 7 Georgia, 82-73 in overtime in a back-and-forth game at the University of Iowaโs sweltering Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
After Day 1 of the NCAA tournament produced 16 wins by higher seeds, Virginiaโs win marked the first upset of the tournament. The upset knocked the number of remaining perfect brackets on Yahoo Sports from 28. 4% to 0.
