Bold prediction: Despite a tumultuous offseason, the New York Mets' revamped rotation fuels hopes for a surprising NL pennant run.

The New York Mets underwent a brutal collapse last season to miss the playoffs. Then, changes came in the offseason. Manager Carlos Mendoza was brought back for another year, but Pete Alonso signed with the Baltimore Orioles and E dwin Diaz inked a deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers .

The Mets made some trades, sending Brandon Nimmo and Jeff McNeil away, but they did add Marcus Semien. Then, the big one came: The Mets acquired pitcher Freddy Peralta in a big trade with the Milwaukee Brewers. And, the Mets signed Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette, although they have surprisingly decided to use him at third base, which is a new position.
