Rangers 4-1 Aberdeen: Title fight continues for Röhl’s Rangers Glasgow Rangers picked up an important 4-1 win over Aberdeen at Ibrox this evening, keeping their title hopes alive. Rangers openned the scoring in the first-half when Tochi Chukwuani found the bottom corner from outside the penalty area. Their second followed shortly after the break, through Tottenham Hotspur loanee Mikey Moore, who tucked the ball into the far corner after a superb run.

Dennis Geiger gave Aberdeen a lifeline with his goal, but it wasn’t enough to rescue a point for The Dons as Nico Raskin and James Tavernier netted Rangers’ third and fourth goals of the evening to wrap up the win. As It Happened Danny Röhl made a single change to his side following their 1-0 win over St. Mirren last time out, as Thelo Aasgaard replaced Djeidi Gassama in the starting XI.

Meanwhile, Aberdeen’s starting team saw four changes for Stephen Robinson’s second game in charge of the side. Rangers forward Youssef Chermiti came close to openong the scoring after ten minutes, heading wide for the hosts. A break in play followed shortly after, to allow Aberdeen midfielder Afeez Aremu to receive treatment following an acrobatic piece of defending.

Chermiti came close again in the 19th minute, with his left-foooted strike hit the side netting. Moore almost forced an opening for Rangers on the half-hour mark, however he couldn’t bring the ball under his spell. Aberdeen defender Jack Milne received the first yellow card of the game for a foul on Chukwuani.
