The defeat - just the Green Lions' second in their past 13 games - keeps them third in the division with six games to play. Travel delays for the islanders forced the game to be put back by 15 minutes, but it did not stop Guernsey making a fast start as Sam Murray headed against the bar and Ben Solway went close in the opening 10 minutes.

Fin Du Port also had a chance for the Green Lions in a goalless first half before Will Fazakerley saw a header cleared off the line eight minutes after the break. Having had their midweek game at Midhurst and Easebourne abandoned while 4-1 up, Guernsey knew they needed a win to keep up the pressure on the top two in the league. But they went behind in the 64th minute when Charlie Ball took advantage of a defensive error.

Seven minutes later Ball doubled his and Eastbourne's tally when he fired into the roof of the net after Joe Overy's shot was saved. T'yano Wilson got the third in the seventh minute of stoppage time having had a good chance saved by Josh Addison just before. Related internet links Guernsey FC
