Vikings linked to potential first-round quarterback

Everyone expected them to make a move as they did for Murray, but not too long ago, they were being attached to a top rookie option for the 2026 NFL Draft. Going back to the Scouting Combine, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah was suggesting they draft one in the form of Ty Simpson.
He was impressed by the Alabama quarterback, calling his on-field throwing workout "solid. " Jeremiah went to social media and said that although he has a second-round grade on Simpson, the Vikings are a potential fit . Ty Simpson had a really solid throwing workout in Indy.
I have him as early 2nd rd guy but I think there are a couple good fits for him. AZ trade up late 1 (we talked about this at combine) or (ducks, turns off notifications) Vikings move back from 18 and take him. — Daniel Jeremiah (@MoveTheSticks) March 3, 2026 Simpson is currently ranked 32nd on the Consensus Big Board .
But the quarterback position can be tricky, with needy teams willing to overdraft to select a guy who could be the franchise quarterback for years to come. If the Vikings were to draft him, that would essentially end the J. J.
