Swayman is having a stellar season, and he has a save percentage above . 900 in 31 of his 45 starts. It’s been a dominant season, and NHL analyst Jesse Granger of The Athletic named Swayman the most consistent goalie in the league this season.
“The Alaska native is as fundamentally sound as any goalie in the NHL,” Granger wrote in an article published on Thursday. “He has a great understanding of angles and how he fills the net behind him, and forces shooters to execute perfect shots to beat him. … “Swayman’s consistency comes from his calmness.
Goalies sometimes move themselves out of position by overcommitting to plays, but Swayman has a knack for smothering shots without opening holes in his stance.
