Boston Legacy look to respond to first loss with road match against Houston Dash
The Legacy will face off with the Dash at 4 p.m. on Saturday at Shell Energy Stadium.
Saturday will be a bit of a homecoming for Boston Legacy midfielder Bárbara Olivieri. The 24-year-old grew up in Katy, Texas, 30 miles west of Shell Energy Stadium where she will face the Houston Dash, her former team, in a 4 p. m.
kickoff. This is the first season of Olivieri’s NWSL career that she’s not with Houston. In August, Boston acquired the midfielder in exchange for $100,000 and signed her to a four-year contract.
“I’m excited to be back, it’s definitely weird coming in as the visiting team,” Olivieri said. “It’s my home town, and I’m excited to be able to play in the stadium as a Boston Legacy player. Obviously the goal is to win, that’d be great and I learned a lot of things here as my first NWSL team.
“I think it was time for a change for me leaving home and I’m having such an amazing time. I love the city of Boston and I’m so happy that I decided to make the change. ” Making the short drive east to see her will be friends and family of Olivieri, who grew up attending Dash games.
