Colts post-free agency position review: Quarterbacks
Following the initial free agency waves, let's review the current state of the quarterback position for the Indianapolis Colts.
With NFL free agency at a near standstill, we will be evaluating the current state of each Indianapolis Colts' position group, specifically, where things stand and whether or not more moves need to be made. GM Chris Ballard has now made 10 outside free agent signings over the last week-plus, along with re-signing a number of the Colts ' own free agents. However, there is still work to be done, as the Colts still have several roster holes to address.
The good news is that the Colts have a good amount of salary cap space to work with. In the draft, the Colts are without a first-round pick and have a modest seven selections in total. Up first in our review are the quarterbacks.

With Jones under contract, the need here is low. The Colts put all of their offseason eggs in the Daniel Jones basket, believing that the success that he had through the first half of last season can be repeated and sustained, even with him coming off a major injury. Assuming the Colts do find a trade partner for Richardson, that still leaves them with Riley Leonard as the team's backup.
