twitter. com/isWmWTbuvu — Pittsburgh Steelers (@steelers) March 20, 2026 Signing with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2021, McCollum wouldn't make his NFL debut until he was signed off their practice squad by the Detroit Lions in October of that year. The Lions waived McCollum in August 2022, where he was claimed shortly after by the Steelers.

He played in Pittsburgh for the next several seasons, appearing in 34 games primarily in a special teams capacity. Not only did the Steelers shore up their interior offensive line depth with the re-signing of McCollum, but they also reportedly brought in a former Dallas Cowboys offensive guard with ties to Mike McCarthy.
