UConn's Tarris Reed Jr. posts monster 31-point, 27-rebound game, out-rebounds Furman by himself

Tarris Reed Jr. posted the most rebounds in an NCAA tournament game since 1968.

No. 2 seed UConn had a little more trouble than expected with No. 15 Furman on Friday.

But not because of anything Tarris Reed Jr. did. The Huskies’ senior big man posted the most outrageous stat line of the tournament so far, finishing with 31 points on 12-of-15 shooting and 27 rebounds (11 on offense) in UConn’s 82-71 win.

He singlehandedly out-rebounded Furman, who had 23 boards as a team. Draft your Yahoo Fantasy Baseball team for the 2026 MLB Season The Paladins didn’t have an answer for Reed. Considering UConn was 32-of-65 from the field, his 11 offensive rebounds represent one-third of his team’s misses.
