Eagleville's boys basketball team fell in the TSSAA state semifinals on a Humboldt last-second 3-pointer on March 20.

MURFREESBORO — The reality of a last-second loss in the TSSAA basketball state tournament semifinals didn't take long to sink in for Eagleville's players. Humboldt's Jakevious Graves hit a 3-pointer with two seconds remaining to break a 62-62 tie and advance the Vikings (23-6) to the state championship game on March 21 at 6:30 p. m.

"It's just like getting stabbed in the heart, you know? " said Eagleville senior forward James Bega, following the Eagles' 65-62 loss to Humboldt in the Class 1A semifinals on March 20. "That's what it felt like.

We hit a tough shot, they come down, hand in the face and they hit a tough shot. You just feel that pain in your chest. It's over.
