Yahoo Sports

Swede Eddie Genborg was scoreless in his AHL debut with the Grand Rapids Griffins on Friday. Genborg, a second-round draft by the Detroit Red Wings in 2025, signed a three-year, entry-level contract on Sunday. The Griffins beat the Rockford IceHogs, 4-2, at the BMO Center in Rockford, Ilinois.

Jackson's Carter Mazur, Jakub Rychlovsky, Ondrej Becher and John Leonard scored goals and goalie Michal Postawa stopped 20-of-22 shots. Genborg, a physical 6-foot-2, 198-pound winger, was part of Sweden's 2026 world junior championship gold medal-winning team, recording eight points (three goals, five assists) in seven games, with a plus-seven rating. Genborg spent the 2025-26 season with Timra IK in the Swedish Elite League, posting 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists) in 43 games, with a plus-eight rating and 24 penalty minutes.

Genborg's 25 points were the third-most among age under-20 skaters in the Sweden's top men's pro league. Bruins, Wings face off in major matchup While the Boston Bruins have won 14 of their last 15 home games, holding onto one of the final Eastern Conference playoff spots will require an improved effort on the road. The Bruins (38-23-8, 84 points) play seven of their final 12 games away from the comforts of TD Garden, including a massive one on tap Saturday night against the host Detroit Red Wings (38-23-8, 84 points).

The teams' fourth and final scheduled meeting will break their wild-card tie. "I think we're just going game by game," Bruins defenseman Jonathan Aspirot said. "We're trying not to think about (the playoffs) too much and just stick to our group and what we can control.

We've got to win every game and have some fun doing it. " Boston has a 4-5-7 road record since the Christmas break but earned points throughout a three-game trip (1-0-2) before returning home for a 6-1 win Thursday over the Winnipeg Jets. Six Bruins skaters scored, David Pastrnak extended his point streak to eight games (five goals, seven assists) and Jeremy Swayman made 23 saves.
