However, Georgia Tech signal-caller Haynes King is far from just a quarterback. The sixth-year quarterback threw for 2,951 yards in his third season starting for the Yellow Jackets. He added 953 yards on the ground, finishing the season with more than 4,000 total yards and 29 touchdowns in just 12 games played.
His efforts were good enough to earn him the ACC Player of the Year award, as well as a top-10 finish in the nation’s Heisman Trophy voting. King is now out of eligibility and will be entering the NFL Draft in April. The Patriots are among the top-three teams showing the Georgia Tech quarterback the most interest, according to Atlanta-based reporter Miles Garrett.
“I’ve talked to a handful, especially at the Shrine Bowl and the Combine,” King told reporters at Georgia Tech’s pro day. “Recently, meetings and stuff like that, it was the Bills, the Cowboys and the Patriots. So far, we’ve had meetings.
