The 15-seed SoCon champion Furman Paladins begin their 2026 NCAA Tournament run tonight as they take on the 2-seeded UConn Huskies inside Philadelphia's Xfinity Mobile Arena. Furman (22-12) is plaing UConn for the first time in over a decade as Bob Richey's squad comes off a strong conference championship run. A lot of the success can be attributed to freshman sensation Alex Wilkins, who's been steadily racking up the postseason honors while averaging 17 points and five assists a game as a full-time starter.
Meanwhile, UConn (29-5) maintains its spot among the elite of college basketball (men's and women's) but the Huskies faltered in their previous game, getting blown out by St. John's in the Big East Tournament final 72-52. Dan Hurley's squad is looking to bounce back in the opening round of the dance, led by freshman Braylon Mullins and veteran Alex Karaban.
