Report: Panthers agree to terms with local free-agent LB
The Panthers are reportedly signing an Anderson, S.C. native and former All-Sun Belt selection.
The Carolina Panthers are reportedly adding a local defender. According to Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer , the Panthers have agreed to terms on a deal with outside linebacker Nick Hampton. The pact was first announced by Hampton's agency, Priority Sports, on Friday evening.
An Anderson, S. C. native and Westside High School alum, Hampton attended Appalachian State University from 2018 to 2022.
He finished out his run in Boone, N. C. with a third-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2021 and a first-team All-Sun Belt selection in 2022.
Hampton would then be selected in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. He's appeared primarily on special teams through the 2025 campaign, and has amassed 17 combined tackles and two passes defensed over 36 games. Follow our free agency tracker for all the latest moves.
