Professional Fighters League (PFL) made history earlier today (Fri. , March 20, 2026) by becoming the first major mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion to stage an event in Spain Madrid, delivering in more ways than one with four of the five main card fights ending in devastating fashion. One of those finishes came in the main event of the evening with Costello van Steenis successfully defended his Middleweight title for the first time against Fabian Edwards , stopping the bruising Brit via third-round technical knockout (TKO).

Things started off fairly competitive through the first two rounds, with both men finding success on the feet. But it was van Steenis who was feeding off the hometown crow, getting the better of the exchanges throughout. In round three.

the two men found themself up against the cage, with Edwards attempting to get the takedown. Once he hesitated for a bit on one knee, van Steenis was able to land one brutal elbow after another to the side of his foe’s head, resulting in 10 unanswered shots that made Edwards go limp.
