Damon Payne says Michigan's new era is like Alabama
Former Alabama player Damon Payne says Michigan's new era under Kyle Whittingham brings an intensity closer to the Crimson Tide.
Damon Payne spent his final year in college football back with his hometown Michigan Wolverines . But he got his start playing under Nick Saban at Alabama . In September, he noted there wasn't much of a difference between Michigan and the Crimson Tide: "I don't really see much difference as far as work-wise," Payne said.
"Work doesn't stop, no matter where you go. It's a little colder here, but that's about it. It's nice having a 70-degree day over 95, so it's pretty cool that way.
" However, at his pro day in Ann Arbor on Friday, he said what he's seen from the new Kyle Whittingham era thus far is closer to his time in Tuscaloosa compared to his final year under Sherrone Moore. "It's a different level of intensity," Payne said. "It was still intense last year, but these guys have a different philosophy.
Wrapping it up from the start, just getting going. It was nice to see the guys get to work. "Coming from where I came from, Alabama, it was kind of like, yeah.
